As of a couple weeks ago, we had 5 Save the Dates on our fridge for weddings to attend this year. Yes, 5. In 2009 we also went to 5 weddings. In 2010 we had 2 other weddings to attend besides our own :) And this year is another big year for weddings. I have a feeling 2012 and 2013 are going to be bringing lots of baby showers…
Anyways, like I mentioned in my jam post last week, we attended my cousin’s wedding recently and it was a great start to Wedding Season 2011. The venue was beautiful, the food was amazinggggg, and I liked how they had a DJ and her step-dad’s band alternated with playing songs for the reception. It was the smallest wedding we have attended, with about 70 guests total, but it didn’t feel that small.
They enjoy doing a lot of outdoors-y stuff, and her husband likes to hunt, so they planned a camouflaged-themed wedding. I know you’re thinking: “camo”???? Trust me, it turned out so good; I was really impressed! They pulled off the theme very tastefully and it wasn’t overdone at all. The guys wore camo vests and ties with black tuxes and black work boots. 3 of the bridesmaids wore tan colored dresses and 2 of the other girls wore bright green dresses (all dresses were the same style), to match with the camo colors. They also wore camo flats that my cousin said she found at DSW. My favorite part? The cake! It was unique as the middle tier had fondant leaves and a camo print.
Take a closer look at the topper:
Haha too funny…love the No Hunting sign. And they also had GORGEOUS flowers, including the table centerpieces. Of course I’m a huge fan of hydrangeas…
God, I love weddings…they never get old. Now I pay even more attention to all the little details, as I know how much planning it takes to get everything right for the day of. Can’t wait for our next wedding in July!
Looks great! I absolutely love the cake topper!
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately I am the first to get married in my group of friends, but I can't wait until everyone else starts to catch up!
