I’m signed up at The Bump and they have a countdown and checklist of things to do each week. Luckily it’s not as extensive as their wedding one was! Anyways in the next few weeks, they recommend starting to prepare your pets for baby’s arrival. One of the articles suggests spending less time with your pets so they slowly get accustomed to not getting as much attention. It’s better to start now so they’re not completely shocked when a new little human shows up in a couple months. Problem is our cats are SO spoiled with attention. And I feel bad leaving them all day while we’re at work, so I like cuddling with them when I’m relaxing after work. Even though they can be a bit much sometimes, I really prefer them being lap kitties than boring, anti-social cats. I also believe they know what’s up with me right now – they love to lay on my belly if I let them or at least rest their head on me. I wonder if they can hear him moving around in there? I don’t know if I even want to try giving them less attention in the upcoming weeks, as I almost doubt it’ll be worth it when Baby C comes. I am curious to see what they’ll do with the crib once it’s all set up with the mattress and sheets…that’ll be interesting trying to train them not to jump in it.
How far along?: 29 weeks Baby is the size of a: acorn squash (and since Hubby isn’t familiar with some of the veggies in the past few weeks, here’s a pic…love you): Total weight gain/loss: +18-20. Ugh, oh so close to the 20 pound mark. The Bump: I feel like I wake up bigger every day. Symptoms: Still tired, though not as bad as last week. No swelling, back or hip pain, which I’m very thankful for! Food Cravings: Sweets. I caved and bought Starburst Jellybeans at Target last Friday (and yup, the whole package was finished by today). Also I was watching the Food Network and they were doing a segment on Sweet Tea, and decided I just had to have some. We went to McDonald’s to pick one up – it was pretty tasty and you get so much for just $1. Luckily I haven’t been craving one since :) Anything Making Me Queasy or Sick: I did get heartburn from some spicy Tortilla soup we had, but Tums took care of that. Sleep: Eh off and on…some nights are decent, some not so good. What I miss: Nothing in particular this week. Weddings Rings On or Off: On Any Names Picked Out Yet: I think we have picked THE one :) It’s a secret until he’s born, though. Movement: Some of his kicks have seriously made me gasp and hold my belly – gentle, Baby C, gentle! Also started counting kicks and it’s pretty rare when it takes him more than 20 minutes to make some kind of movement 10 times. He is so active. Maternity Clothes: Basically all maternity. Labor Signs: Nothing. Best Moment of the Week: The sales associate at Marshall’s today politely asked if I would tell him when I was due with my “upcoming arrival”. He was so cute talking about his daughter that was born a day before Baby C’s due date. And no, I did not buy any baby clothes, only some cute sandals for myself. What I’m excited about/looking forward to: First childbirth class is next Monday night :) 29 Week Pic:
And what I wore to work…maternity top and pants from Target, lace tank from JCPenney:
